Rose had walked here from the academy. She had been unpacking all day and finally her room looked more like home, she was nervous about teaching being around alot of people all at once, she had performed infront of alot of people but interacting with them was somethign Rose was a bit unpractised with, she had alot of trust issues and found it hard to make friends.
She wore a long red dress it dragged a little on the floor even though she wore high heeled victorian styled boots with buttons, on top her corset was tight and restricting but it looked gorgeous red with black pin stripe and frill at the top. Her hair was up with a red rose behind her left ear and she wore red lipstick and black eyeliner.
She sat on a bench beside the pond looking down into the water watching some organge fish swim about.

Alexander stood against one of the large oak trees that over looked the lake, his head tipped forward, hands in pockets, watching silently as his dog sniffed around the undergrowth. He may have been a vampire of several centuries, but he had a dog, and his dog needed walking, so he had waited for a little while before the evening before walking him. Sunlight was certainly not good at all, and he tried to avoid it at all costs, last time he stayed in the sun for a long time, and that had been a long time ago, he had killed three people, and that had been just to survive.
Chance was putting his nose into the flower beds, amusing his owner as he sneezed and sent several bees flying. Alexander loved animals partly for their innocence, they were never vengeful, though cats might be the exception to that rule, and dogs were always loving, never failing. He was dressed in a slimly fitting black jacket, giving at the chest, tight at the waist, and just a little bit loose over his hips. Under that he had on a pale blue short sleeved shirt that was tucked into a pair of fashionably scruffy black jeans. Usually he would have worn his sleek black shoes, but since he was walking he had on black army issue boots, laced up to just past his ankle underneath the trouser legs.
His blond hair was in that 'messy' style that a lot of teenagers seemed to prefer these days, as much as he had bothered to notice anyway. One ankle crossed elegantly over the other as he stood there, he looked up subtly as he heard someone else, as much for caution as anything else. His dark blue eyes lightened slightly as he caught sight of Rose, instantly impressed by her attire, the clothes reminding him of a very different time. Though the women that he had known had never been that small around the waist, ah fashions changed so quickly now. Looking back to Chance, he thought about going over there, when his dog decided to do it for him.
The skinny black and tan german shepherd puppy trotted over to the woman who smelt similar to his owner, tail wagging, his entire body language giving off that he was harmless. Chance went up to her, sniffing at her feet momentarily before sitting down and putting just the barest edge of his chin on her knee, hoping for a bit of fuss. Alexander watched with a slight smile on his face, wondering whether she would be frightened by the big dog, who wasn't even fully grown yet. [/size][/blockquote]

Rose had been so consumed in her own thoughts she hadnt noticed the man and his dog, she had been watching the gold fish swimming round in circles some notiving her watching assumed she had come to feed them and came to the surface opening thier mouth and closing them again in hopes of food. Rose turned as she could smell something strange and looekd to see a young dog walking towards her wagging its tail and laying its head on her knee.
Rose looked puzzled for a moment beforte she lay a hand on its head and scartched its ear gently, Rose was definatly more of a cat person but it didn't mean she hated dogs. She just liked the independance cats had, if they sat with you it was because they wanted to not because it was a trained response.
"Hello there"
She whispered to the dog as she scratched it ear, she looked up and noticed Alexander and felt her chest get a bit tight as a response that had stayedwith her for years now kicked in and she felt nervous, he was a vampire she was sure of it, so many times she had seen the pale look and the sense she got as well. she wondered if he would know she was a vampire as well.
For being so old Rose was not knowledgeable about her own species.

As he watched her, it took a little while for him to work out that she was not a human, though he knew that she was a vampire immediately when she looked up at him. Knowing that Chance wasn't always the most keen to return to call once receiving fuss from someone else, he started to walk over to the bench, quite relaxed in how he moved. "Chance." He said softly, once he was much closer, knowing absolutely that at this short distance his dog would come back to him, no matter what. Just as he thought, the young puppy turned around, nuzzling the woman's hand briefly, and leapt over towards him like a mild loony, keeping close to his heels.
"I'm sorry about that, he's just a sucker for a quick cuddle." Alexander said with a smile, his brisk enlgish accent very obvious. Something about his demeanor suggested that he was older and mature, nothing seemed to worry him, and yet he looked so incredibly young. Most tended to guess that in reality he was around his thirties, others just one or two centuries. Never before had anyone guessed just how old he was. Quite funny really. "Well i think most are arn't they?"
She said quietly, she was nervous he was a vampire she had deliberatily stayed away from vampires in her travels, the last time she had seen a vampire had been after her turning so this was pretty big.
"He is a lovely pup"
She said looking at the dog rather than Alex, her blood red eyes were usually a give away as to her being a vampire even though it was not really something that happened. Some assumed it was colour changing contacts though rose wasnt the type for that sort of thing.

He could feel how nervous she was, though it made him wonder whether that was due to him being a vampire, male, or simply another presence close to her. Some people had social fears of anyone coming within close contact, let alone someone deadly. "Probably. Every dog I've had is." He replied with a soft smile, thinking on all the different dogs that he had loved and looked after over the years. They were always loyal, completely and utterly, and had never failed him, even when he had been in situations where he was unable to protect himself, they had been there.
Mind you, there was the one time he had a wolf, a full blooded wild thing instead of a dog, and though it had tried to kill him a couple of times, when it had realised it was outmatched, they had soon started to get along. "Thank you." He said in return to the compliment about his dog, quite loving of the little creature. "My name's Alex by the way." Although he knew because she was nervous she might not want to get close, he offered his hand to shake anyway, all of his body language showing that he was completely and utterly calm. Rose looked between him and the dog and she felt eased the animal seemed relaxed and he hadnt shown any signs of hostility thus far, so she relaxed a bit and listened to him say all of his dogs were good.
"I tend to go for cats more, The independance they have i find a little more appealing"
Not that she didn't like dogs of couirse just in her line of work she traveled alot and she was out at night and couldnt take a dog to a performance so cats suited her life style better. He said his name and held out his hand. she stood up placed her hand in his not really an action of shaking but just a brif hold while she dipped her head a little. Rose could be a little stuck in her way traditions that people didn't think about now.
"My name is Rose"
She said simply to him.

"There is that." He murmured in soft response, his attention seemingly distract for a moment, but just a moment. "I do like cats, they're lovely creatures. Just...dogs tend not to bugger off when you're having a bad time." Alexander gave her a genuine smile, showing that he wasn't mouthing off about cats as such, just commenting on his own experience with them. He'd only had one, or maybe two cats through his long life time, though he had lived a lot, or stayed anyway, with people who owned cats, or had a family of cats within the household. It made for an amusing evening when occasionally he got a dog that didn't like furry little felines.
Though it was hardly obvious, he subtly observed as she received his hand shake and gave a nod, the ettiquette of another time, far from this one, but not as far as his own. After a moment, he let her hand slip, light in his movements as always as he let it hang by his side. "I suppose you're never fearful of being out at night on your own like this." He replied, saying it more as if suggesting that he also felt like that, not because he was a macho male, he never bothered with that silly nonsense, but because he usually had no companion out here, animal or otherwise, that could match his strength, or even overpower it. "I suppse your right as well, though my cats hav'nt leaft me yet so im doing ok."
Rose said as she shifted slightly on the bench, she watched him and looked to his dog again smiling a little at it, Dogs did make good companions rather than pets she supposed, but she didnt have the time for walking a dog. Then he said about not being scared out in the dark? well if only people knew how nervous a person rose really was. Being alone was fine but being alone with other people around was another matter.
"Not much to fear in a place like this is there"
She was more asking him a question than confirming his commenting, she wondered if there were vampires or other creatures like the ones she had encountered before.
