“Spud come back here you ass of a dog!” Grace called out playfully, grinning as she watched her Husky pounding around her in circles his tongue lolling out the side of his mouth. At her feet sat a fat little pug, panting and out of breath. Grace loved her dogs, actually she loved dogs in general. Miff, the puppy at her feet was fat and adorable and stayed as close as she could to her owner at all times, where as Spud, the idiot husky with an obsession with potatoes , was overly active and seemed to enjoy causing trouble where ever he went. Right now, she was trying to get him to come home . She’d been at the park for a few hours now , except there were to many people around now, she could smell them and all the voices in her head were giving her a headache. Not having been trained in what she was meant to do as a werewolf, Grace tried her best to stay in control of herself, but she was still young and with no formal training. Her main problem at the moment was her telepathy she had no idea how to single in on one particular person so her head was like a badly tuned radio. She didn’t like listening to peoples thought though, she thought it was rude. “Spuddddd” she whiney, flopping down in the grass , resting her head on her hands.
The dog looked up at her and barked a few times, obviously wanting her to come play with him. Generally, if Grace was at home she played with her dogs, in , well, wolf form, she wasn’t as easily breakable then and it stopped them form getting between her legs. Pushing her purple hair behind her ears, Grace got on all fours and grinned at her dog, suddenly launching herself forwards , she ran quickly, more so then a human eye could ever hope to capture and tackled the dog to the ground. He wasn’t exactly light either, he was big for a husky. She grabbed him around the head, ruffling his ears. That was before he broke free and tore off again. Sitting up she groaned as she noticed he’d run out of sight , again. Walking over she scooped up Miff who was to puffed out to walk by herself and started for the track , looking for the large dog.
Spud had run off down the track and was following the scent of a certain person. He saw them a few meters away and wagged his tail, they smelled comforting, sort of like Grace only a bit different. He could hear his owner calling him and was torn between what to do, follow the scent or go back? Grace say him down the track and little and frowned “Hey, fat dog, come back” she called. She knew the dogs couldn’t understand her, but she teased them all the same, it was an affectionate teasing though, if she lost one of her dogs, she’d be lost. In this town, they were her closest friends.

Julian nearly always came to the city park to walk his little dog, or not so little, considering that she was growing all the time. Around the academy there were too many people, the teachers and students both knew who he was, and some of them...well he didn't want them knowing that he owned a puppy, especially one that they might be able to get their mitts on. Although in general he certainly wasn't a 'violent' person, just dark and well...darn right scary, he would kill anyone who tried to hurt his beloved puppy Fiona. But he had brought her here anyway, since it was the best place of course, couldn't wander around the mall with her, even if she had been allowed in.
Thankfully he was in very good control of his blood lusts and other primal urges whether in his human or wolf form, and so he had come out in his wolf form. As a wolf he was slender, large and black, his fur being thick, made to keep out the harsh weather, despite there not being much around here. The only part of him that wasn't as black as night was his eyes, which were a clear, watery colour, though really they held no colour at all, just a light, like the light of the moon. His puppy Fiona was a soft brown Boxer puppy with small socks of white on her paws and a dab over her nose. She looked like a brown dog who had dipped her nose in white paint by sniffing at it a little too closely.
Though he was certainly fit enough to walk Fiona in any form, it was more fun, and far more socially acceptable, to be running around as a wolf, rather than a human. He towered over his puppy, but her, being naive as always, was completely fearless, though it wasn't exactly like he would have hurt her. Julian reared up onto his back legs, playfully prancing as he jumped up and down, pouncing on Fiona playfully. The puppy jumped up, throwing herself at him, and even being less than half his size, she knocked him over. He flipped back over onto all fours, parting his jaws, showing his sharp white teeth as a whine sounded from his throat, the noise becoming lower and more like a growl. Yapping loudly, he snapped at the air around her playfully, and in return was pinched by her sharp little teeth making contact with his neck. [/blockquote]

As Grace caught up to Spud, she tapped his nose, looking down at him. He looked back up sheepishly and thrust his nose into her hand. In an attempt of apology. “You can’t just go running off whenever you , what if something happens to you, you silly boy, what am I going to do then huh?” bending down, Miff still lying in her arm panting , and kissed the top of the husky head. He made a whiney noise as she tugged on his collar, wanting to go home, Grace never put her dogs on a lead, she found it to constricting , after all they had a right to go where they wanted, as long as it wasn’t to far. And being a sort of dog herself, once she’d thought about it, if someone tried to put a leash on her, she would have torn it to pieces. Except instead of coming the way she wanted, he tugged her forwards, out of surprise she followed, not sure where he was going or why he was headed towards the opposite end of the park she needed to go to. She wanted to get home before she felt the urge to attack someone. If Grace had been paying any attention to her senses she might have figured out where her dog was taking her. But she’d taught herself to ignore them when she wanted, other wise she had a headache from all the loud noises and the badly tuned radio that was her head.
She let go of Spud and let him run forwards, but he kept stopping to wait for her, she was confused as to where she was going. Obviously he knew something she didn’t. Grace took a deep breath in, it was then that the smell finally hit her. Someone who wasn’t human, someone who was like her. Another werewolf. “Spud” she hissed at him, feeling a little nervous, she wasn’t used to being around her own kind, although she liked the company. But she knew it wasn’t a good idea to waltz up to a werewolf, even if it was in daylight and think everything would be alright, some were to aggressive for their own good. Except her dog thought otherwise, he bounded forwards towards the pair of dogs, well one was a wolf, that Grace had just spotted. Biting her lip she ran after him, carful not to drop the other dog in her arms.
Spud had run up to the pair so he was only a couple of feet away and barked at them, wagging his tail in a friendly manner. Grace plopped Miff on the ground next to him, she flopped down, watching the scene with no interest. That dog was to unfit for it’s own good. She glanced at the wolf briefly then walked forwards, grabbing spud around the collar holding him in place. “You can’t just run up and expect that your going to be allowed to play, that’s rude” she told him, tapping his nose again. Grace looked up at the wolf and smiled, she could smell him and she wasn’t naïve to thinking he was just a massive black wolf that happened to hang around a park playing with boxer puppies. “I’m sorry about him she thought, trying to communicate through her mind. “He’s just overly excited and playful” . One hand stroked Spud’s head absent mindedly , the other holding his collar.

Julian made a soft, short whine as he felt her relinquish her hold on his skin, it had hurt, enough that he had made a noise, but he knew real pain, so it was only a little one. He batted at his puppy lightly, only wanting to push her away playfully, not hurt her, though unfortunately he could way too easily if he wasn't careful. Spinning around, he leapt a few steps away from her, whining playfully now as she chased him, grabbing onto his tail. The only thing he could do really, was to drop to the floor suddenly, turn over onto his back, and put his paws between her and his body. Fiona barked loudly at him, and then suddenly he attention was somewhere else.
The little boxer puppy stood to attention, staring in the direction over his head, and upon seeing Spud much closer, she bounded off towards him, intending to start a rough play with him. If he had known the dogs, he wouldn't have done anything, but he loved his puppy, and with a dog that was much bigger than her, she was likely to get herself hurt. In a flash he was up on his feet and physically on top of Fiona, with a light hold of her scruff. A disappointed snort sounded from her as she dropped down onto her belly in slight dejection, tail thumping at the floor furiously as she still wanted to play with the other dog, so badly. He may have been a wolf, but he was still her owner, and she still wanted other, real dogs to play with, he was damned close, but he just wasn't the same.
His head was slightly tilted where his teeth were in his puppy's scruff, but once she dropped down to the ground, he let go, still keeping an eye though in case she jumped up. Today she just seemed a little nippy, and not all dogs were okay with that. Sniffing subtly at the air, he could tell that she was a werewolf, and was intrigued, though not in a teacher like sense. Visibly he jumped, startled as her voice communicated with him through telepathy. There had been silence in his head for hours, since he could shut out regular background noise, and to suddenly have someone there was just a little surprising. He recovered quickly though, and was very quick to relax and settle back to normal.
"That's alright." He replied to her, glancing down at his puppy for a moment. "Will he be alright with her if I let her go? She's a little hyperactive." The last of the sentence brought a smile of happiness to his eyes, he clearly adored her. Though what decent dog owner didn't adore their dog? He might have let her run off anyway, but some strange dogs only liked to give out hyperactive unexpected visits, they didn't like it in return. Some did though. Julian wondered what her name was, he wasn't going to ask unless their dogs played though, maybe it was just because it'd be too weird to suddenly introduce himself. [/blockquote]

Grace saw the large wolf pounce at the smaller puppy and at first a jolt of shock ran through her. Only because she knew if landed on her fully, he could probably have crushed her. Except he seemed to know what he was doing , which was sort of a relief. Grace couldn’t help but grin as Spud stuck his nose out trying to get to the little dog , whiney in frustration as he wanted to be let go. She couldn’t blame him, he had Miff to play with, but she was fat and lazy and just snapped at him. So the fact he wanted to go play with the new dog didn’t surprise her. His ears perked up as he heard the puppy give a grunt. If she hadn’t been a werewolf there was a chance he would have been able to drag her over to where the wolf sat, except she managed to pull him up, although he was putting up a fight, but she wasn’t fazed by it. Grace saw the wolf jump, and realized he hadn’t been expecting her to speak to him. This end of the park was quieter, but there was still a ruckus going on in her head. It was a wonder how she concentrated most days. Although she was glad she’d been able to lock onto his mind and speak to him, sort of a little accomplishment for herself.
Grace wasn’t surprised by his voice in her head, she’d been bracing herself for it. She liked his voice though, which was sort of an odd thing to realize. Chewing her lip gently she nodded, looking up to concentrate on him, it was easier to speak if she was looking at the person, or wolf. “He’s playful, but he wouldn’t hurt her, in fact he’ll love having someone hyper active” the voice in her head was amused as she thought of Miff, sitting at her feet , who was the laziest animal on the planet. She saw the flash of admiration in his eyes , and for a moment felt a sort of happiness rise in herself. Grace felt that werewolves had a stronger bond with most animals in general, probably their genetic make up was closer and she understood the bond owner and pet could have with each other, she knew for a fact her dogs weren’t just pets, they were her friends.
She glanced down at Spud and slowly let his collar go, he seemed to have gotten the impression he needed to be nice and walked over towards the pair, ears perked in interest. When he was about a foot away, he lowered himself in the grass, tail smacking against the ground at a stupid pace. He let out a whimper and glanced at the bigger wolf, almost asking permission to play. Grace let out a giggle and sat down in the grass, smiling “He likes you” she commented, it wasn’t often Spud asked permission for anything. Turning her attention from her dog to the Wolf sitting over the pup, she had a good look at him for the first time and was instantly jealous. His coat was thick and black, unlike her own which was a deep russet color, like her natural hair. She’d always adored black dogs, and wolfs. She didn’t even know this mans name yet but she had a feeling she wasn’t going to dislike him, even if this was a once off meeting.
“I’m Grace by the way” she thought, nodding at him in a hello. She’d been bought up to have manners, and introducing yourself seemed like a polite thing to do. This must have looked strange if someone was looking on, seeing a woman sitting in the grass not talking but seemingly communicating with a massive black wolf , although that wasn’t really worrying her at the moment “It’s nice to meet another wolf, I heard there were a lot around this area, but I hadn’t met any, until today”

He gave a very slight nod to her as she said that her dog would actually enjoy having the company of a hyperactive puppy. Taking a step back, so that he wasn't standing over his little dog, though she would be big once she had grown up, he nudged her rump. Fiona jumped to her feet, checking that her owner wasn't about to grab her or anything, before tearing over to Spud, running three mad dash circles around him, before dropping into a play bow in front of him. Julian looked amused as he watched his puppy, though there was a knowing look there too, he knew his puppy, knew what she was like, how she acted on a regular basis.
Once Fiona wasn't sitting underneath him, he sat down almost carefully, watching the boxer puppy, hoping she didn't go and get herself hurt in her madness. The still mostly human part of him was amused at Spud, though the wolf side wanted to join in the games. It probably took more effort not to chase the other two of them, than it didn't to stop himself from biting or attacking most people. His puppy could sometimes be a scaredy cat, so he didn't know whether she was going to do her usual act of shoving herself under his chest in a few moments, demanding that he protect her, as was his job. It was quite funny usually, though once or twice she had bruised his chest, though he tended to only find out once he was back in his human form.
His clear crystal eyes watched Grace for a moment as she communicated with him, telling him what her name was. "I'm Julian." He responded, introducing himself as well, quite glad, though he didn't know why, that he had told her his name. It was still hard to work out whether or not most people in the city of Celestial actually knew who was a supernatural and who wasn't. Of course most supernaturals could tell who else was and wasn't human, but apart from the students and teachers at the academy, they didn't really make up the big numbers. And although he probably wouldn't deny it, he wasn't exactly going to go round telling everyone what he was. It wasn't that he didn't accept what he was, he just had no intentions of causing trouble for himself.
He gave a slight nod in return. "Most live, or at least work at the academy, and a lot around here are good at hiding what they are." Of course really the only reason that he had seen quite a few werewolves around here was because he was the teacher of the werewolves 'special' class, the one where they learned self control. Julian's self control over his urges and impulses was better than werewolves that were even older than he was, he supposed with his upbringing and how he had been taught as a child, he was naturally good at controlling himself, hiding his emotions. "I take it you don't attend the academy?" She looked a little bit older than most of the students that came to his classes, but then again, the age gap between some was huge. [/blockquote]

Grace watched patiently as he let his puppy go, watched as she bounded over to Spud who crouched down and wagged his tail so furiously she was afraid for a moment it might fly off and hit someone. He was surprised as the little dog ran three quick circle around him , but barked playfully at her before nudging her side and bolting off, stopped quickly to see if she’d followed before bolting away again. Grace laughed out loud. She hadn’t found a dog who could out run him yet, sure they could keep up, but over take him, that hadn’t happened yet. When he was old and couldn’t run anymore, she knew it would break his heart, her as well, she’d have to figure out a way to keep him young forever instead. But even that seemed a tad far fetched. Grace wasn’t worried about him being rough or going to far, he’d been trained well by Miff, she’d sorted him out the minute he got home and it just stuck now. Although she noticed the wolf watching Spud, maybe a little cautiously, she couldn’t blame him, he was a fairly big dog after all.
The voice suddenly rung in her head, his voice. Oh so he had a name. Julian. She’d lost her concentration, lost the connection and hold she’d had on his mind in particular. “Dammit” she muttered to herself, aware he’d probably be able to hear anyway. She smiled at him , and brushed her fringe out of her eyes “Well it’s nice to meet you Julian” she spoke out loud now, having given up on telepathy, she’d dropped the connection, although that was a fairly good amount of time for her, considering she’d never had any training on how to be a wolf. It was comforting to be in the presence of someone like her, she wasn’t about to go out and have a party and address it just for werewolf’s, they’d probably all get shot. It wasn’t something she publicized if she could help it , she felt like she was keeping her friends safe if she kept it form them, of course they always commented on how jealous they were of her looking so young all the time. She was sort of glad she’d been hanged when she glad, 23 was a good age to stay at forever in her opinion. Old enough to drink, young enough to still have fun, although 56 years on she was a little sick of partying.
His voice rung in her head again and she nodded, that explained why there were so few supernatural’s around the area. They’d come here to go got school, probably safer for everyone if they did. Grace hated the fact that it seemed like they had to be ostracized, it was like racism at a different level, and it wasn’t because people hated them, if they knew what they were, they were just scared. It was easier fitting in for her if she pretended that she was just human. Grace shook her head “No I don’t go to the academy , I thought it was just for newly turned ones, ones of age” she shrugged but if she was wrong about that, maybe it would be worth while applying, after all there was no reason she couldn’t go back to school again, she’d liked school. “I work at the music store around the corner, taking a break from traveling, what about you; do you go to the academy?” he looked a bit old to attend school but she could have been wrong. Grace flicked her gaze over to the dogs , Spud was still running around like a mad man, checking every now and then that the boxer puppy was following him. “Spud thinks he’s found a new friend” Grace joked, rocking so she was now sitting on her knees. Part of her wanted to go and join them, but she didn’t think turning in the middle of a park, surrounded by humans was a good idea.

Fiona lifted herself to her fullest height, which wasn't all that tall, as Spud barked and ran off. Snorting playfully, she sped off after him, digging her baby claws into the ground to try and get there faster. He had left before she had, and she was just starting to catch up with him, she was a zippy little thing, didn't leave anything to chance. When he stopped to look back and make sure she was coming, she nearly went straight into his back end. Of course the little female puppy had lifted her front end, presumably about to jump over him to save herself, when he bolted off again. The leap for a jump turned into just another stride, though a slightly too long one, which meant she had to slow down to regain her balance, wouldn't look good if she fell flat on her face.
Glancing back at his puppy, slightly worried about her attempting to nip Spud rather than anything else, he gave a soft sigh, changing his attention back to Grace. A slight look of amusement graced his eyes, and it almost looked like he was smiling, even though he hadn't actually moved his mouth. Presumably she had trouble with her telepathy, which was fair enough, and not uncommon, considering that it was a hard thing to control. It had taken him a good few decades to get a decent amount of control over his, and still he had those times when his concentration just went to pot and a thousand different voices, a thousand different minds, clashed with his.
"Nice to meet you too." He replied telepathically. He would have switched to just speaking out loud, but that would mean shifting forms, and becoming nude in the middle of a public park, not that it bothered him, wouldn't exactly be great publicity. Although most people within the academy knew what he was, he was a teacher, and he didn't hide that or being a werewolf within the academy, he didn't exactly advertise it down the town either. Hilarious really to see the reaction of a group of violent mortal youths when they saw your eyes change, and realised that you could tear them to bloody pieces and not be all that bothered inside. He still didn't know whether being that casual about giving into his urges, when he occasionally did for good reason, was scary or not. Maybe it was. Maybe it wasn't.
Listening to what she said carefully about the academy, he glanced briefly to their surroundings, his natural suspicion when in public with humans. "The academy although mostly a school, is for anyone who needs it's help or protection." Even he had found that the academy was one of the few places that he had been genuinely accepted, even just by his own kind, let alone humans and other creatures. "Yes. I'm a teacher there." He wondered what she would think about him being a teacher, would she think it was 'uncool', she probably wouldn't, she didn't look that immature. Turning his attention fully to the dogs as she commented on them, he looked just the slightest bit proud. "He has." He said to Grace telepathically, watching his crazy little puppy run madly after Spud like it was the best thing in the world. [/blockquote]
